Antimony oxide is a compound known by its general chemical formula Sb2O3 is one of the most important types of oxide. The objective of this work is to study the catalytic effects of antimony oxide of formula Sb2O3 used as catalyst in the oxidation of phenol in the presence of hydrogen peroxide. Some factors influencing the phenol degradation reaction have been studied: as the volume of hydrogen peroxide, the reaction time. The results obtained by HPLC showed that the Sb2O3 catalyst of average catalytic activity gives a conversion of 66.28% in which the phenol could be oxidized by the H2O2 by-products such as hydroquinone and pyrocatechol and a few Unknown by-products.en_US
