Designing and developing information routing protocols for Wireless Sensor Networks (WSN) applications is a significant contribution to improving network performance and increasing the lifetime of networks. The aim of this research is to propose and study a hierarchical routing methodology, based on a classification mechanism of the network in a set of clusters consisting of sensor nodes represented by Clusters-Heads (CHs). The latter are selected according to a selective process based on an optimization method known as PSO (particle swarm optimization). First, the CHs are selected randomly in the first round, but in the other CHs are selected as a function of the distance between the positions generated after the speed update of each CHs by APSOC, such as the nodes which have The minimum distance becomes CHs. To test the efficiency and to show the performances and the improvements of the proposed approach, we carried out a comparative study with the standard routing protocol (LEACH), APSOC gives a performance in terms of energy consumption.en_US
