We aim through this research to clarify and clarify the effects of changes in world oil prices on the macroeconomic variables in the Algerian economy in the period (2010-2020), and in order to reach our goal, we adopted the descriptive analytical approach, and the impact of these changes on the Algerian economic variables was addressed, in addition To the measures taken to deal with fluctuations in oil prices and get rid of oil hegemony. The most prominent of our findings is that the global oil market witnessed during our studied period two major crises, which greatly affected the Algerian economy, since it is a rentier economy and that oil prices, rising or falling, directly affect the gross domestic product, the state’s general budget, unemployment and foreign exchange reserves. The rate of foreign direct investment, the balance of trade balance and external indebtedness during the study period, and therefore changes in international oil prices naturally affect the macroeconomic variables in the Algerian economy. Keywords: oil prices, gross domestic product, state general budget, unemployment and foreign exchange reserves, foreign direct investment, trade balance balance, external indebtedness
