Abstract

بدأت الكشوفات الجغرافية على سواحل شرق أفريقيا بدية من القرن 15م وظهرت لها عدة اسباب منها: الاستراتيجية و الدينية والاقتصادية. وقامت بوضع رحلات تجسسيه من أجل اكتشاف المنطقة والتعرف على الطرق التجارية المؤدية الى الهند، وتحولت هذه الكشوفات الى استعمار على المنطقة، ولهذا قام العثمانيين والمماليك خلال القرنين 16/17م بتصدي القوى الأوروبية؛ لمواجهة البرتغاليين من أجل حماية المناطق الإسلامية المقدسة.
