تُمبكتُ خلال القرن 13ه/19م من خلال الرحلات الأوربية

Abstract

من المؤكد أن الرحلات الأوربية تحدَّت الصِّعاب للوصول إلى تُمبكتُ، وساهمت كتاباتهم في التأريخ لمدينة تُمبكتُ خلال القرن 13ه/19م. فقد وظَّفوا الدراسات العلمية الحديثة: الجغرافية، والاقتصادية؛ والإثنوغرافية...في دراستها؛ وفي المقابل قدّموا خدمة هامة للمستعمر. ومن أبرز الرحالة الذين وصلوا إلى تُمبكتُ خلال هذا القرن: غُورْدُون لِينْج، رِينِيه كَايِيه، هِنْرِي بَارْث؛ ويليهم فِيلِكْس دِيبْوَا، زار تُمبكتُ سنة 1896م بعد الاحتلال الفرنسي للمدينة 1894م؛ فقد تباينت كتاباته في صِدقيتها، بين: العلمية، الموضوعية في الدراسات الطبيعية، والجغرافية، وأحيانا الاقتصادية؛ بينما غلبت على كتاباته الذاتية، ونظرة تفوق العنصر الأوربي، في الدراسات الإثنية، والسوسيولوجية؛ فراح يُمجد الاستعمار الفرنسي.

Certainly, European trips defied the diffculties to reach Timbuktu, and their writings contributed to the history of Timbuktu during the 13th century AH/19 AD. They employed modern scientific studies : geographical, economic, and ethnographic…in thier studies ; and in return they rendered an important service to the colonizer. Among the most prominent travelers who arrived in Timbuktu during this century : Gordon Ling, René Caillet, Henry Barth ; They are followed by Félix Dubois, who visited Timbuktu in 1896 AD after the French occupation of the city in 1894 AD ; His writings varied in their validity between : scientific, objective in natural studies,geographic, and sometimes economic ; While he dominated his self-writings and a view of the superiority of the European element, in thnic and sociological studies ; So he glorified the French colonialism.
