Learning vocabulary is so essential to learn a language. In the teaching – learning process, English as a Foreign Language (EFL) students need to learn as much vocabulary as they can in order to be able to communicate easily. The importance that vocabulary has in improving a language makes researchers look for the easiest ways to enrich learners’ vocabulary. One method that can be very useful for improving vocabulary is the Audio-lingual Method. Since this method focuses on repetition and drills, it facilitates the process of learning and remembering new words, and it helps to develop the language skills. The aim of this study is to investigate the influence of the Audio-lingual Method on the vocabulary of EFL learners. Two methods are used to collect data for this research. The first method is a questionnaire which was given to 83 first year students of English at the University of Adrar. The second one is an interview which was done with 4 teachers of the same level of students. The findings of this study show that using the Audio-lingual Method (ALM) for teaching vocabulary to EFL learners results in increasing their vocabulary.en_US
