Abstract: In the way of having well shaped images with fewer and fewer sizes, and since images are used in many fields nowadays many image compression techniques have been proposed. In this paper, we present a new image compression technique based on polynomial interpolation. It is based on the interpolation of image pixels so they would be represented by polynomials. We also proposed some enhancements, which are presented as techniques, in order to make our approach reach better compression measures. The final results of our method show competitive results compared to the common used compression techniques.
