Abstract: The study we conducted on the subject of spelling errors in the Arabic language in the light of modern linguistic studies students of the first year of the average model, medium Prince Abdelkader - Adrar - The study aimed at trying to identify the common mistakes in the writings of students, to identify the possible causes that led to the commission and to search for solutions proposed for treatment, and the importance of the topic that the spelling is a branch of the Arabic language, among the topics that fall within the field of applied linguistics in general , And the field of special language instruction. In order to do this, we chose a sample of 40 students to identify students' errors, relying on the descriptive approach which is based on describing the phenomenon and reinforced by the analysis tool. We also relied on the statistical method to know the percentage of errors committed by students. The results of the study showed that the most common errors in writing The students are: Hamzat various types, link and the clutches of pieces, open T and tethered, and letters that do not pronounce, etc. The recommendations included the research to name but a few: the need to take into account the curriculum of the Arabic language, the allocation of a full share of the dictation.
