Abstract: | This present work is part of the problem of safeguarding traditional built earthen heritage. Its objective is to provide practitioners with a guide to the rehabilitation and restoration of earthen constructions constituting the local architectural heritage of the region of Adrar in the Algerian Sahara. It consists, first and foremost, in a "diagnosis / remediation" operation of the various pathologies identified on the Ksar of Tamentit heritage site, taken as a remarkable example of Ksourian architecture. In the second place, we propose its application on the representative case of the mausoleum of Sidi Mohamed Bayoucef, chosen for its historical importance and its architectural richness and presenting an advanced state of disrepair. For each pathology identified, we propose a technical solution that is consistent with the characteristics of local materials in the earth, in order to reclaim local traditions of construction that are endangered. Similarly, we do not exclude, in some cases, the possibility of remedying these pathologies using so-called "modern" techniques and materials, provided that the local architectural aspect is preserved. |
