Topography cover a wide range in scope and complexity, from the staking out of simple structures or the surveying of small parcels of land to the extensive and difficult surveys required in the construction of subdivisions, bridges, highways, canals, dams, railroads, wharves, missile and rocket launching sites, drainage and irrigations systems, or the survey of relatively large portions of the earth’s surface. The fourth chapter is devoted to the determination of surfaces. In this chapter, examples of area measurement of various types are presented. Le cours est destiné aux étudiants de 3ème année licence spécialité hydrocarbure. L’ouvrage couvre les chapitres du programme officiel et comporte le nécessaire pour savoir les notions de base et le calcul pratique en termes de principes, méthodes et formules, mais il reste toujours que l’étudiant doit déplacer au lieu de travail (chantier) pour mieux comprendre et voir les déférentes connaissance de la maintenance des puits pétrolier sur le terrain. Le cours est scindé selon le programme officiel en un ensemble des chapitres. Des généralités sur un gisement sont présentées dans le premier chapitre, telles que les caractéristiques petro- physique, les caractéristiques d’un puits et les mécanismes de récupération. Le deuxième chapitre est consacré à l'étude des déférents endommagements produisant au niveau d’un puits, et pour diagnostiquer et caractériser ces endommagements, le chapitre 3 présente les essais d’évaluation de ces derniers. Par la suite, une signification physique de l’endommagement avec les conséquences d’une modification de la perméabilité sur la productivité de puits sont les sujets du chapitre 4 et 5 respectivement. Finalement, les techniques les plus couramment utilisées pour effectuer les opérations d'intervention sur les puits comme le wireline et coiled tubing sont présentées dans le chapitre 6.
